Credit where it started.
The original GSD was created by Lex Christopherson, known online as Taches.
His work gave people a practical language for getting AI-assisted engineering out of vague chat and into a real operating loop: discuss the work, plan it, execute it, verify it, and ship it. That idea mattered. It still does.
OPEN GSD exists because that original spark was useful enough to keep carrying forward. The framework, CLI, desktop workbench, and hosted cloud are being rebuilt as a broader open ecosystem, but the origin deserves to stay visible.
A complicated chapter does not erase the beginning.
Things got messy after the original project gained attention. Trust was damaged, people were hurt, and public channels disappeared. This page is not here to relitigate every part of that story. It is here to be honest about the origin while OPEN GSD moves forward with transparency, accountability, and a community-first standard.
Lex started something people cared about. I’m grateful for that. OPEN GSD is my attempt to preserve the useful part, rebuild the broken part, and make sure the work belongs to the people who show up to keep improving it.
